Overview

This 1914 Harley Davidson Model 10 B is a single cylinder, single speed, chain drive. It was purchased in 1970 at a swap meet in Del Mar CA. The original pictures indicate it is a factory original motorcycle. The seller cleaned the bike, serviced the engine, lubricated all the bearings, put on new tires, applied patches to the tank, painted the entire assembly grey and started riding it.

This 1914 Harley Davidson single has completed many rides including the Minden pre-16 rides in the early 80’s. The bike was put away in the mid-80’s after a successful ride in Minden and it has just been brought back out into the sunshine.

Not really a barn-find, but close. The sale includes another 1914 single engine with a DG factory number engine that is complete. Also includes two magnetos and a spare carburetor. No known history.

Mileage

Mileage unknown. Probably about 3,000 miles since put back on the road in late 70's

Paint

Painted in the middle 70’s with a good application of quality paint.

Sheet Metal

Sheet metal is a factory original in good condition and well fit. The tank was patched to keep it in service and it still does its job. Fenders show use from the years but overall in great condition.

Chrome

None

Mechanical

This motorcycle was in excellent mechanical condition when it completed the last Minden Pre-16 run. It has good compression. A quick tune and cleaning of the points should result in a running machine.
