Overview

This 1946 Harley Davidson FL Knucklehead motorcycle is a motorcycle built to ride. It is a mix of original and early reproduction parts, all of outstanding quality. The bike was built in the early 1990’s by two well-known and famous builders. Francis Clifford was the engine builder. Roy Burke was the bike builder. Roy was a well-known racer and dealer of bikes in the vintage years. He wanted his last bike to be excellent, so he hired “Cliff” to do the engine build. This 1946 Harley Knucklehead FL was built to run and that it does! Current owner is the second owner and has had the bike for 10 plus years. He is thinning out his collection and this bike needs to go to a new owner.

This motorcycle was just polished and tuned. (the pictures are prior to the polishing) It is a beautiful motorcycle! Battery was installed and the engine tuned. This motorcycle starts on the first ignition kick if you know the drill. Bring a strong leg, it has lots of compression and it is more than 74-inches.

Ready for ride and shine!

Mileage

Unknown mileage on the build. Upwards of 5,000 miles dependable miles suspected.

Paint

Painted in the 1990’s during the build. The paint shows well and takes a great shine. There are a few road marks and a scratch or two on the bike, Minimal for use.

Sheet Metal

Sheet metal is in excellent condition and well fit. The fenders are early reproduction items. The gas tanks appear to be original. All sheet metal is in excellent condition, devoid of dents and dings. My expert tells me this is an Edlund frame.

Chrome

Chrome is of excellent quality and takes a great shine.

Mechanical

This motorcycle is in outstanding mechanical condition. The engine was built by Francis Clifford, renowned Harley engine builder. The original cylinders sit on top of a 74-inch set of cases. (Rumored to be built to about 93-inches). This is a strong motorcycle, smooth through the gears, and ready to roll. The bike was recently tuned, and a new battery added. It starts on the first ignition kick if you know the sequence. Bring a strong leg, it has compression! The bike needs a new throttle cable installed.
