Overview

This 1965 Harley Davidson Panhead is probably one of the most original 1965 Harley Davidson motorcycles out in the market. This Panhead retains its original paint, sheet metal, rims, windshield, and all other items fitted at the factory.

The paint is somewhat worn, has scratches, but no dents or gouges in the sheet metal. The chrome is in nice condition. The entire panhead motorcycle has a great original patina look. There is a little rust area on the rims which would be expected on an original motorcycle. This motorcycle still has the Harley-Davidson dealership sticker on the rear fender, and its original license plate. Seller has the Riders’ Manual, tools, dealership order cards, and a 1965 Harley accessories booklet from the dealership.

This motorcycle was kept in tip-top mechanical condition, and the original owner stated he would never paint it due to its originality. Seller rode on this motorcycle when he was 8 years old, going to a Baltimore Orioles game in Baltimore with his dad. He has ridden this motorcycle well over 200 miles on a day trip without any problems during the past summer. It is a fantastic motorcycle! It is smooth and clean through the gears with plenty of power to roll on. I love her to death, but it now needs to go to the next caretaker.

This motorcycle is equipped from the factory with all the one-year only items to be found on a 1965 Harley Davidson Panhead.

MILEAGE: 35,923 (original) miles indicated on a perfectly working odometer.

PAINT: Original paint shows very well, has wear marks, minor scratches and great patina that continues to hold a great sheen. Scratches on the fuel tanks are from buddy seat wear. Seller has not used compound or wax on this motorcycle, just microfiber wipe down.

CHROME: Original chrome is in nice condition with minimal pitting. Paperwork does not show chrome group, but this specific motorcycle was fully dressed from day one.

MECHANICAL: The motorcycle runs excellent. The motor was rebuilt in 2018 (standard bore). The generator was rebuilt, as well a totally restored carburetor in the spring of 2021. The transmission was a total rebuild in November 2021 and installed a NOS regulator (74510-64 1119614) at the same time. All electrical components work as they should.
