1947 Indian Chief Roadmaster

This 1947 Indian Chief was restored in Roadmaster Trim in 1997. The bike was purchased as a matching number, rolling chassis project from a museum in Simi Valley CA. The bike was completely and correctly restored using the original parts and new reproduction parts  when necessary. The drive train was completely rebuilt including all bearings and moveable parts in the engine and tranny. The bike was featured in Easy Rider Magazine when completed and it has less than 150 miles on it. Stored indoors in the living room 99% of its life, this new motorcycle needs fresh oil, gas, and air to be ready for years of Show and GO !

Mileage

Less than 150 miles on the rebuild, restoration. 33,182 shows on the working, Original Speedometer.

Paint

This correct paint scheme was painted in 1999 by a professional shop using Dupont paint. The bike suffered some scratches during the Northridge CA earthquake and insurance pad for a new paint.apaint shines nicely and and is award winning

Sheet Metal

The majority of the sheetmetal is factory original. The tanks were coated with KREEM in 1997.

Chrome

All chrome was redone during the restoration and is bright and shiny.

Mechanical

This machine was professionally restored and rebuilt by a motorcycle shop. All moving parts were replaced and all bearings were replaced. This is a new assembly with only 150 miles on it. It needs fresh oil, gas, and air and then the new owner needs to break it in.

Wheels & Tires

New Carlisle MT 90 - `16 tires front and rear.Rims are original Indian with stainless spokes.

Clear California Title currently on a non op registration.

Custom saddlebags mounted in such a way that the fenders were not molested. correct tool box (painted), shift knob, dashboard is 48, Decal is not 47 . Best of show award 2001.
