This 2017 Moto Guzzi V7iii was purchased new from OC Motorcycles of Costa Mesa. The motorcycle’s sideways V-twin is the star of the show—only 52 hp, but lots of torque which makes it handy for the hilly streets of South Orange County.
Having ridden back in the 60s, when there was no choice about tires, I knew about the difficulties of bias ply spoked wheels—not fun.
With this in mind, I mounted Kineo wheels (saving a little unsprung weight in the process) which have spokes attached to ears on the rim. The spokes do not penetrate the rim, and this enables running radial tires on the bike, making flat fixes simpler as with most any modern bike.
Next I mounted a Hepco & Becker center stand and a pair of Hepco and Becker panniers.
After these modifications, it was time to address the suspension. The stock rear shocks were replaced with a pair of Ohlin shocks, and the front forks were kitted with Matris fork cartridges.
The bike has a little over 7,350 miles on it. Last serviced by the dealer at 7000 miles in July of 2017.
Why sell? I have a new BMW that I enjoy riding and I just inherited a real nice Mercedes. The garage is full, and something has to go!
