Overview

1907 Indian ‘Camelback’

This is a 1907 Indian Motocycle. It is original, it is historical, and it has real pedigree.  The original owner of this motorcycle was a Providence RI dealer. This bike was recalled by the factory to change it back to a chain drive from a gear drive. Indian Motorcycle placed this motorcycle in an attic and forgot about it. In 1956 This motorcycle was found in the attic of the original Indian building, and it was removed by a friend of the building’s owner and sold to a gentleman from the area, Romie Lambert, and placed in storage in his barn. (Original bill of sale available).

This bike was then found by Ted Hodgdon President of USA, BSA. Ted had worked for Indian and was aware of the historical value of this motorcycle. Ted was also a founding member of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, and he was intent on preserving this motorcycle.

This 1907 Indian Camelback motorcycle resurfaced in 2001 along with Romie Lambert at the Chester MA motorcycle rally where it received much attention and best of show awards. The bike was also presented at the Indian Motorcycle Museum in Springfield MA winning best of show in Indian Day 2011.

This motorcycle was reviewed and tuned in 2006 by Walker Machine in MA, a noted Indian motorcycle expert. (Invoice available).
