Overview

1907 Indian Single Cylinder Motocycle
Diamond Frame Motocycle, Single Speed, Original Motocycle

This is an original Indian motorcycle that is with the 3rd owner. It is believed that this machine was purchased as is from the Indian Dealer in San Francisco or more likely San Jose California (Favor Cycle) in 1907. The second owner purchased the motocycle in Sunnyvale CA from the family of the original owner in the late 30’s. The paint on this machine appears to have been redone in the 30’s. The parts on the bike are original and it is assumed the bike is 95% born as original.

Current owner has had it since 1987. He added the Schwinn pedals to the bike after he bought it. He had previously worked on this bike and others for the second owners and was happy to purchase it when offered. He last rode the machine in 1989.
This bike would be a great candidate for restoration because of the 30’s paint job and all of the original parts are present. It is also a great candidate for minimal restoration.

Mileage

0 miles in the last 20 years

Paint

Repainted in the 30’s?

Sheet Metal

All correct and from the era. This is a touring tank option available from the factory. The bike is believed to have been delivered with this tank as opposed to the camel back tank of the day. This would have been an upgrade allowing extended use. The on/off valve for fuel is period correct, non motorcycle.

Chrome

None

Mechanical

This bike runs well and is an easy starter. 2 1/4 hp. Last run in 1989. Proper set up and lubrication will be needed prior to this machine being road worthy and running.

Wheels & Tires

Arrived to current owner with these bicycle tires. I would prefer all white oir all black for the period. Rims are correct for this bike and difficult to find.

Title

Sold on a bill of sale. A history of the motocycle will be detailed to the new owner.

Valuation Resource Guide

This would be a 1- on NADA scale
