Historical Significance
The BSA A10 Golden Flash, introduced in 1950, was Birmingham Small Arms Company’s answer to Triumph’s 650 twin. With its gold-painted tank panels and smooth 100-mph performance, it quickly became one of Britain’s most desirable roadsters. By 1959, BSA had refined the A10 with a swing-arm frame, duplex cradle chassis, and better reliability—making this year one of the most collectible iterations before the model evolved into the Super Rocket.
Praised for its balance, torque, and touring comfort, the Golden Flash became known as “The Gentleman’s 650”—a refined yet muscular British twin that could hold its own against any rival of the era.
