Brief history
-
Built to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee (25 years on the throne in 1977).
-
Triumph produced a limited run of 2,400 bikes:
-
Mechanically it’s a standard 750 T140V Bonneville; the differences are mainly cosmetic and commemorative:
-
Silver tank and sidecovers with red and blue striping, Blue seat with red piping
-
Special Silver Jubilee badges (“One of a Thousand”, “Limited Edition”, or “International Edition” depending on market)
-
Extra chrome (engine covers, tail light housing, etc.) and painted/striped wheel centers.
-
Each bike was supplied with a numbered certificate of ownership, which is important for today’s collectors
The Jubilee marked the beginning of Triumph’s late-’70s/early-’80s run of special-edition Bonneville's before Meriden finally closed.
