Owner purchased the bike in 1998 and the package truck chassis in 2000. Owner painstakingly restored this vehicle as a tribute to his family’s Dodge Dealership, over a 4-year period using all OEM and many New Old Stock components. The package truck body was reproduced by owner and his father and myself as one of the last projects we would complete together. The entire process was documented and was a cover story for ‘The Antique Motorcycle’ AMCA Magazine in summer of 2002.
All proper component finishes include cadmium, Parkerizing, and chrome. The wire harness is all original NOS. all important components are real including headlamp, taillight, speedometer, all glass, front-fender lamp, emblems, and trim. The decals on the box were all real 1940’s water slide tow-truck door decals found at our 73-year-old Dodge Dealership. Accessories include NOS leg shields, original restored 1941 Wisconsin “Not-For hire” license plate, and rare factory accessory NOS fog lamps. The decals were dated 2/48 and unused extras are included in the sale. The hand-lettering was done by an 83-year-old local man who lettered our tow-trucks in the 1950’s. Bike is finished in Brilliant Black DuPont Imron, and Imron clear. All aspects of the bike were completely rebuilt including engine, 3-speed with reverse transmission wheels, hubs and brakes.
This WL is in perfect running condition and has a clear Wisconsin title. It is by far the finest most correct example of a 1941 WL Commercial delivery in existence being offered
