Additional Descriptions of Motorcycle:
Un-restored survivor, era modified. I purchased this bike new in November of 1975 from Werth’s Triumph Sales in Joliet Il. It is the first of three T 160s I have had. I still have most all the original parts and wire harnesses that have been removed except the exhaust
system pipes and many new parts for it as well as the original owner's manual and some other documentation. Chopped rear fender, custom tail light and a front fender from Kawa KZ 900 LTD mounted backwards for the fun of it.
It was built to beat the Kawasaki 900 and 1000 LTDs, and it does!
Last driven was 6-18-2024, I have a video of it running. Will need some TLC to get it running but I am sure it will. Fuel has been swapped out this August with fresh.

Noteworthy Features & Reviews
-
Performance: The T160 offers excellent power and handling for a bike of its era. Reviewers from the time praised its three-cylinder engine as smooth relative to parallel twins, with a unique sound that encourages hard riding.
-
Handling: It uses a development of the T120 Bonneville's frame, which provides reassuring and predictable handling. The bike is noted for its stability, even at high speeds.
-
Design: The T160 featured updated styling, including the engine canted forward by 15 degrees, which allowed room for the electric starter. It has a distinctive four-pipe exhaust system, with the center cylinder using two pipes that merge into a pair of "bean can" silencers at the rear.
-
Common Issues: Common owner complaints included a somewhat uncomfortable stock seat, minor oil leaks typical of vintage British bikes, and a high price tag when new compared to Japanese rivals. The stock single-disc front brake is considered marginal by modern standards, and many owners recommend an upgrade or a dual-disc conversion for better stopping power.
